Synopsis
The Lost Hero is the first book in Rick Riordan's Heroes of Olympus series, set in the same world as Percy Jackson & the Olympians but introducing a new trio of demigods. During a school field trip to the Grand Canyon, Jason Grace wakes up with no memory of who he is, accompanied by two classmates, Piper McLean, daughter of Aphrodite, and Leo Valdez, son of Hephaestus, who insist he is their friend despite his blank recollection of them. Moments later the group is attacked by a monstrous storm spirit and rescued by satyrs who bring them to Camp Half-Blood, where they learn Jason, despite his amnesia, is a demigod son of the Roman god Jupiter rather than his Greek counterpart Zeus. As the three piece together Jason's forgotten past, they are given an urgent quest to rescue Hera, Queen of the gods, before she is lost forever.
