Synopsis
Thirteen-year-old Kate Gordon spends the summer in Baja California with her father Jim, a historian who studies Merlin. He believes a sunken Spanish galleon, the Resurreccion, holds the Horn of Merlin, a shell-shaped drinking horn that once granted a kind of immortality and was lost through Merlin's own pride. A huge whirlpool blocks any approach to the wreck. During a storm Kate is pulled into the whirlpool and finds herself in an undersea world full of dangerous creatures, where she must keep her free will in order to save her father and return the horn to where it belongs.
