Synopsis
The Mime Order is the second novel in Samantha Shannon's The Bone Season series, following clairvoyant protagonist Paige Mahoney as she escapes a prison camp and returns to London, reluctantly rejoining her former syndicate. When a power vacuum emerges in their underground hierarchy, she becomes entangled in competing agendas within the syndicate while continuing to oppose the oppressive government of Scion, all while trying to stay hidden from a regime that would execute her on sight for what she is and for what she has seen inside the colony she fled, and for the secrets about that colony she now carries back into the city.
