Synopsis
The Mirador, the third novel in the Doctrine of Labyrinths series, follows Felix and Mildmay's return to the Mirador, the great tower complex at the heart of Mélusine where the city's Cabaline wizards live and work, a homecoming that proves far darker and more fraught than either brother anticipated. Court politics and conspiracy entangle both men as a scheme to place the sheltered young nobleman Shannon Teverius on the throne draws in multiple conspirators with overlapping and often contradictory agendas. Alongside Felix and Mildmay, new perspectives from Mehitabel, an actress and spy navigating her own dangers at court, and Kay, deepen the novel's view of the Mirador's intrigue, even as both Harrowgate brothers continue struggling with the psychological aftermath of what they survived in the earlier books.
