Synopsis

The concluding volume of the Last King of Osten Ard series opens with the Hayholt itself under siege, as the immortal Norns attack the ancient stronghold that once belonged to their own kin, the Sithi. The deathless Norn Queen Utuk'ku is driving her people toward the Vale of Mists, known as Tanakiru, where an ancient secret is said to be hidden. Prince Morgan and the renegade Norn warrior Nezeru travel together into the valley, their bond deepening as they face both wonders and horrors along the way, while Queen Miriamele works to defend the Hayholt and uncover the truth behind the traitorous councilor Pasevalles. The renewed war between humans and Norns reaches its final, decisive phase as these threads are drawn together.
