Synopsis
The Poison Song opens with its characters still recovering from the costly battles of the previous novel, as the Jure'lia continue their assault on the world and time for a defense grows short. Noon, Vintage, Tormalin and their allies, including the warrior Bern, must regroup and devise a plan capable of ending the Jure'lia threat for good rather than merely holding it back. The story moves between quiet moments of grief and healing among the survivors and large-scale confrontations involving the war-beasts and the invaders' living weapons, as the group works to turn scattered knowledge gathered across the trilogy into a workable strategy. As the series' concluding volume, it follows the characters' efforts to unite the war's fractured forces before the Jure'lia can complete whatever purpose has driven their return.
