Synopsis
The Sapphire Portal is ready, and the Merdrun are bringing their long-hidden women and children through. There is no turning back, but what is the portal truly for? It may be a horrific weapon meant to cleanse Santhenar of all four of its human species so the Merdrun can take the world for their own, and only their arch-sorcerer, the magiz, knows. Karan and her allies embark on their most desperate plan yet, to discover the portal's real purpose and subvert it before it is too late, though it is the most heavily defended site in the world and not even an army could get near: so what can a slave and a ten-year-old girl hope to do? The final volume, presented as resolving the storylines of the whole Three Worlds sequence begun with The View from the Mirror.
