Synopsis

Sideways Pike is an outsider witch at her high school who performs small magic tricks under the bleachers rather than practicing openly. When the three most popular girls at school, Jing, Yates, and Daisy, pay her forty dollars to work a spell at their Halloween party, the casting goes further than expected and binds the four of them together as a coven. Sideways, who has been raised alone by her mother after the earlier loss of her found-family mentor, discovers that her power multiplies when channeled through genuine friendship rather than solitary practice. As the newly formed coven begins experimenting with curses and shared magic, they draw the attention of witchfinders, a hostile fundamentalist group intent on hunting down and stripping witches of their power, forcing the four girls to rely on one another to survive.
