Synopsis
Set in the Norse-inspired land of Vigrid roughly a century after the gods destroyed one another in war, the story is told through three point-of-view characters whose paths gradually intertwine. Orka is a huntress drawn from her quiet life onto a perilous mission after tragedy strikes close to home; Elvar is a noblewoman seeking glory in battle alongside a warband of her own choosing rather than the life expected of her station; and Varg is an enslaved man working toward revenge for wrongs done to his family, eventually falling in with a mercenary band known as the Bloodsworn. Their separate journeys unfold against a backdrop of jarls feuding for power across Vigrid and the widespread belief that the remains of the dead gods still hold great power for those willing to seek them out, whatever the cost.
