Synopsis

In the concluding volume of the Shamer Chronicles, the Dragon Lord who now rules Dunark hunts down Shamers across the kingdom, seeking to have them burned at the stake for the threat their truth-revealing power poses to his authority. A rebellion begins to take shape around Nico, the legitimate heir to Dunark and Dina's reluctant friend from the earlier books, as he moves to challenge the tyrant's hold on the throne. Dina, whose Shamer gift has already been tested and nearly broken over the course of the series, lends her ability to the growing resistance, using it in support of Nico's claim even as the Dragon Lord's persecution of Shamers escalates and the stakes of open rebellion grow for everyone involved.

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.
