Synopsis
The Silver Hand picks up after Lewis, now known by the Albion name Llew, has been welcomed into the society of that otherworldly Celtic realm. His companion Simon, however, works to subvert the rightful order of succession, backing Prince Meldron's bid to seize the throne. As Meldron usurps power with Simon's help, the land itself begins to sicken in response to the broken order, a Celtic-myth motif linking a rightful king's fitness to the health of the realm. Meldron moves against Llew directly, maiming him by cutting off his hand and leaving him, by the customs of Albion, seemingly disqualified from ever ruling. Llew must find a way forward despite this injury as Meldron's usurpation threatens to unravel the realm around them.
