Synopsis
The Sinister Mystery of the Mesmerizing Girl, concluding the Extraordinary Adventures of the Athena Club trilogy, opens with the Athena Club facing two crises at once when both Alice, the club's kitchen maid, and Sherlock Holmes vanish without explanation. What begins as a race to rescue one of their own quickly expands into something far larger, as Mary Jekyll and her companions uncover a conspiracy that reaches toward Queen Victoria and the stability of the British Empire itself. Drawing on the varied and unusual abilities their monstrous origins gave each of them, the women of the Athena Club must track down their missing friends and unravel the full scope of the plot before it can be carried out.
