Synopsis
European Travel for the Monstrous Gentlewoman, the second novel in the Extraordinary Adventures of the Athena Club, finds Mary Jekyll and her companions, the community of women united in the first book by their shared origins in Gothic science fiction, setting out across Europe after Lucinda Van Helsing, daughter of the famed vampire hunter, is kidnapped. Their pursuit leads them into the Austro-Hungarian Empire, where they discover Lucinda is being held by the same secretive Alchemical Society responsible for the experiments that created several of the club's own members. Determined to rescue Lucinda and put a stop to the Society's ongoing schemes once and for all, the women must navigate unfamiliar European cities and the Society's international reach while relying on the very abilities their monstrous origins gave them.
