Synopsis
The Skybound Sea concludes the Aeons' Gate trilogy, moving Lenk and his companions beyond the ship-bound and island settings of the first two books into a wider, more apocalyptic conflict. A terrible demon has risen from beneath the sea, and the group learns that where it came from, many more like it could follow, even as a mysterious alien race is separately plotting the extinction of humanity altogether. With both threats converging, Lenk's fractious crew has to set aside at least some of the infighting and personal crises that consumed Black Halo in order to face a danger that now extends far beyond their own survival, bringing the trilogy's blend of dark humor, monster-hunting action and character-driven dysfunction to its widest scale yet.
