Synopsis
The Sorcerer in the North continues the Ranger's Apprentice series as Will, now a fully fledged Ranger with his own fief, is sent north to investigate reports of a mysterious sorcerer terrorizing the area around Castle Macindaw and the nearby Grimsdell Wood. Working undercover disguised as a traveling entertainer, he gathers information quietly among the local population before revealing his true purpose, wary of drawing attention before he understands what he is truly facing. As he digs deeper, Will discovers that the situation at Macindaw is far more complicated than a simple case of sorcery, involving poisoning, deliberate deception, and competing claims over who should rightfully hold the castle's leadership. Piecing together the truth behind the supposed sorcerer and the political maneuvering surrounding Macindaw, Will finds himself navigating a web of intrigue that threatens the stability of the entire northern fief.
