Synopsis
Twelve-year-old Lilah is curious about the secrets of the palace. Her uncle, the king, keeps raising taxes, and her older brother Peitar spends his days on mysterious letters. Lilah slips out in disguise to make friends among the poor children outside the walls and learns that a revolution led by a man named Derek is taking shape. When she creeps back in, she discovers that Peitar is one of the people behind it. The uprising begins before his plans are ready and turns to chaos and violence, and Lilah and three friends leave their old lives behind to become spies and help however they can.
