Synopsis
When a mysterious parcel addressed simply to Rosenquist arrives at her family's rented house, eleven-year-old Lin Rosenquist knows the package must be for her. Frost covers the flowerbed even in a rainstorm, and when the secret key inside, marked Twistrose, arrives for her, Lin finds a crack in the cellar and unlocks a gate to the world of Sylver, a wintry realm populated by animals that were once beloved pets or tamed wild animals, among them her own vole, Rufus. There she must find the missing Winter Prince before she can return home. Tone Almhjell's debut, illustrated by Ian Schoenherr, which Kirkus called fantasy that evokes the classics of yore and stands proudly among them.
