Synopsis
Strange things are happening around Niklas Summerhill's home: animals are dying in the woods and water, his grandmother does not seem like herself, and his uncle is suddenly lost in grief over his sister, Niklas's mother, who died seven years before. When a beast turns out to be a troll brought to life from Niklas's own games, he knows he has to stop it, and with the help of his lynx companion, Secret, he finds the source of the magic: a portal to another world, where something akin to his own imagination has developed a dark twist that is infecting the land. Can Niklas and Secret save the animal realm, and their own? A companion to The Twistrose Key, published in August 2016, for readers who love Gregor the Overlander and Five Kingdoms.
