Synopsis

In the lands controlled by the Ironship Trading Syndicate, drake blood is distilled into elixirs that grant extraordinary powers to a rare class of people known as the Blood-blessed, but the known drake lines that supply this blood are weakening, threatening the syndicate's economy and raising the risk of war with the rival Corvantine Empire. Claydon Torcreek, an unregistered Blood-blessed who has been working as a thief, is forcibly conscripted by the syndicate and sent on an expedition into uncharted territory in search of a rumored new and more powerful breed of drake. The mission draws in other operatives working for the syndicate's competing interests, and Clay finds himself navigating unfamiliar wilderness, rival factions and the syndicate's own secretive agenda as the search for a fresh source of drake blood becomes increasingly dangerous.
