Synopsis
In the second Draconis Memoria novel, the Ironship Trading Syndicate's supply of drake blood remains critical, and Claydon Torcreek, Lizanne Lethridge and Captain Corrick Hilemore continue to grapple with the consequences of events from the first book, joined now by a new perspective character, the soldier Sirus Akiv Capazin. An expedition led by Clay to secure new drake blood goes badly wrong and inadvertently awakens a colossal, long-dormant White Drake, a creature of immense destructive power that can also command an army of transformed, enslaved beings known as the Spoiled. As the awakened threat begins to move, Clay and Corrick commandeer a warship to search the southern seas for a possible means of stopping it, while Lizanne works undercover in hostile territory to track down a device that might offer humanity's best chance of survival.
