Synopsis
Drake Douay, an apprentice swordsmith turned pirate, falls in love with Zanya Kliedervaust, who rejects him. His former master goes mad, founds a religion that brands Drake as evil, and Drake is driven into exile. The novel follows his long quest to win Zanya, and in its second half it crosses paths with Elkor Alish's war, the Collosnon invasion of Argan and the fall of the Confederation of Wizards.
