Synopsis
The Wolf's Call opens the Raven's Blade series five years after the events of Queen of Fire. Vaelin Al Sorna, the legendary warrior of the earlier trilogy, has withdrawn from public life and war to live quietly, deliberately avoiding further conflict and the fame it brought him. His peace ends when he learns that Sherin, a woman from his past, has fallen into the hands of the Steel Horde, an army sweeping across the sea under a leader who claims divine authority. Reluctant but unable to turn away, Vaelin is drawn back into the field, navigating the fractured politics of the Venerable Kingdom's merchant rulers as he searches for a way to reach Sherin and gauge the true scale of the Horde's threat, aware that this may be an enemy even he cannot defeat alone.
