Synopsis
The evil magician Mardanax of Zaar, seeking revenge on Thongor, slips into Patanga, the capital of Thongor's Lemurian empire. He strikes Thongor down and drugs Queen Sumia so that she obeys him. A young officer, Charn Thovis, tries to rescue Thongor and Sumia's son, Prince Thar, but their airboat goes down and they fall among pirates from the rogue city-state of Tarakus. The story follows the efforts to save the prince and the stricken king while Mardanax tightens his hold on the throne.
