Synopsis
Continues the Witcher saga as war breaks out across the continent and Ciri, now training as a sorceress, becomes a target for multiple factions. Geralt, Yennefer and their allies attempt to keep Ciri hidden and safe as the political order among the northern kingdoms and the Nilfgaardian empire breaks down into open conflict. Sorcerers' councils and rival courts each pursue their own agenda regarding Ciri's prophesied importance, while Geralt is drawn into decisions about how far he is willing to go to protect her, setting the stage for a fractured continent from which none of the main characters can expect to emerge unaffected.
