Synopsis

Nearly a century after the death of Inda, Danet and Arrow are joined in an arranged marriage. A treaty sends them to the royal city to meet the heir to the throne, and there they find that the peace between nations is fragile and that old enemies still remember old wrongs. What begins as politics and family duty widens into a larger conflict as raids, rivalries and the pressures of magic begin to close in on the kingdom. The book is the first half of an epic of politics, war, family and magic in the world of Sartorias-deles.

Notes

  • First edition: Book View Cafe hardcover, 2019.
  • From the series record (Time of Daughters): A two-volume story set nearly a century after Inda's death, following Danet and Arrow, an arranged-marriage couple, and two young princes.

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.
