Synopsis
Before Dorina Basarab rose to a seat on the Vampire Senate, she was a dhampir, part human and part vampire, living on the margins and hunting monsters for pay. Her greatest opponent yet is unlike any she has faced. The story also follows Kit Marlowe, who was made a vampire through a dangerous ritual because his master needed someone who knew Elizabethan England, and Gillian Urswick, a witch torn between a lost love and a current one, who must solve a mystery connecting past and present. Dorina, Kit, Gillian and Mircea are sent on a mission with stakes high enough to rescue the world or ruin it.
