Synopsis
Tome of the Undergates follows Lenk, a young swordsman troubled by a mysterious voice inside his own head, who leads a fractious band of mercenaries hired to guard a ship carrying a mystical tome. The tome is a key capable of opening the Aeons' Gate, a passage said to connect the world to both heaven and a demonic underworld, and when an ancient demon seizes it from the clergywoman meant to safeguard it, Lenk and his companions must race to recover it before the creature can use it to unleash a horde of demons, and their monstrous matron, upon the world. His crew includes a murderous rogue hiding darker secrets, the pious clergywoman herself, an awkward and unreliable wizard, an enormous dragonman, and a tribeswoman from a people with a long history of hostility toward humans, all as likely to turn on each other as to cooperate against the threat bearing down on them.
