Synopsis
Traitors' Gate, published by Kate Elliott in 2010, concludes the Crossroads trilogy. With the corrupted Guardians now an open threat to the Hundred, Anji takes command of the region's assembled forces to confront them directly, a campaign that tests both his military skill and the loyalties of those who have followed him since his and Mai's arrival as refugees. Mai, meanwhile, must reckon with the cost of the compromises her husband has made in pursuit of victory, as the war against the Guardians increasingly blurs the line between necessary strength and outright betrayal. The novel brings together the trilogy's threads, the fate of the reawakened Guardians, the future of Olossi and the wider Hundred, and the marriage at the story's center, as the true nature of the power struggle set in motion in the first book finally comes to a head.
