Synopsis

The fifth book in the Iron Druid Chronicles centers on Atticus O'Sullivan's effort to bind his apprentice, Granuaile, to the earth so she can become the first new Druid created in centuries, a lengthy ritual that must be performed at the base of Mount Olympus. The three-month binding leaves Granuaile vulnerable for long stretches, and the process draws unwanted attention: the Roman god Bacchus wants revenge on Atticus, members of the Norse pantheon, including one recently freed from captivity, continue to see him as an enemy, and an ancient vampire views the pair as a growing threat to vampirekind. With only his Irish Wolfhound, Oberon, as reliable backup, Atticus must keep Granuaile safe from a string of traps while the ritual runs its course.
