Synopsis

Truckers opens in the English countryside, where Masklin leads a small, dwindling band of Nomes, a race of tiny people living hidden among and largely unnoticed by ordinary humans. Struggling to survive after being forced from their previous home, the group hitchhikes aboard a truck in search of safety and better prospects, uncertain where the journey will take them or whether they will find any of their own kind still surviving elsewhere. Their unplanned ride delivers them to a sprawling department store, where they discover thousands of fellow Nomes already living a settled, if precarious, existence behind the walls and under the floors, forcing Masklin's small band to adjust to a society far larger and more complex than the one they left behind.
