Synopsis

Wallace Price realizes he has died only when a reaper appears at his own funeral to collect him. Rather than passing directly into the afterlife, he is led to a small tea shop set between the mountains, run by Hugo, who is both proprietor and a ferryman who guides departed souls onward when they are ready. Wallace, who spent his life largely detached from the people and things around him, is reluctant to leave an existence he feels he barely got to live, and lingers at the tea shop rather than moving on. When a powerful figure known as the Manager arrives and grants him a strict window of time before he must finally cross over, Wallace is forced to reckon with what he missed in life, and with his growing connection to Hugo, in the days remaining to him.
