Synopsis
Vespera is a cosmopolitan port city in Thetia, an archipelago on the waterworld of Aquasilva, set forty years after the events of the trilogy. The city is in the grip of civil war. Raphael Quiridion, a clever, proud intelligencer and musician, returns from exile to hunt the assassins of the Emperor. His search uncovers a buried secret from the arctic mines that reaches into his own family and pits him against the Empire and the Dream Twisters. The novel follows Raphael through the streets and politics of Vespera as he tries to learn who is behind the killing and what they stand to gain.
