Synopsis
Marla Wolfblade is reeling from the loss of her closest confidant, Elezaar the Fool, and Hythria is recovering from the deadly plague that Alija Eaglespike allowed to spread in one of her schemes to kill Damin Wolfblade. Damin has survived it, and rises to the challenge of war: King Hablet of Fardohnya threatens invasion on the western border, where a little-known law would let a living Wolfblade claim his throne, while at home the High Arrion's final play for power and the madness of Damin's uncle Mahkas open fronts of their own. The third novel of the Wolfblade trilogy brings Marla's long game to its conclusion and Damin to the warlordship he holds in the Demon Child books.
