Synopsis
Well of Shiuan picks up Morgaine and Vanye's quest to close the dangerous interdimensional Gates on a new world, one slowly drowning as its seas rise to swallow the land, inhabited by ordinary humans and by the khal, a people with their own uneasy history with the Gates. The pair are pursuing Chya Roh, an ancient, body-stealing being who has betrayed Morgaine and fled through a Gate to Shiuan, carrying with him knowledge that could be turned to devastating use if the Gates are exploited rather than destroyed, forcing Morgaine and Vanye deeper into a world not their own. First published in 1978, Well of Shiuan belongs to the The Morgaine Cycle series.

Notes
- From the series record (The Morgaine Cycle): A sword-and-sorcery/planetary-romance hybrid about Morgaine, a warrior charged with destroying the ancient, dangerous gate-network left behind by a vanished civilisation, and the swordsman who becomes her reluctant companion. No further volume has appeared since 1988, and the author has not stated the story is finished, so this is treated as an unconfirmed-status series rather than declared complete.
