Synopsis

Fires of Azeroth carries Morgaine, the last surviving member of the Union mission sent to destroy the interdimensional Gates, and her sworn companion Vanye onto the world of Azeroth, where the ancient, body-stealing being Chya Roh, who has possessed Vanye's own cousin, has assembled a vast army said to number a hundred thousand. Drawing on the uneasy loyalty of barrowlanders, marsh people, and the khal, the possessed Roh commands a force Morgaine and her small band are hopelessly outnumbered against as they push toward the Gate controls at a place called Nehmin. Determined to prevent the Gates from being turned to conquest, Morgaine must hold together her fragile alliance and her own resolve while Vanye grapples with facing kin turned enemy, as the two make their way through hostile territory toward a confrontation neither can avoid.

Notes

  • From the series record (The Morgaine Cycle): A sword-and-sorcery/planetary-romance hybrid about Morgaine, a warrior charged with destroying the ancient, dangerous gate-network left behind by a vanished civilisation, and the swordsman who becomes her reluctant companion. No further volume has appeared since 1988, and the author has not stated the story is finished, so this is treated as an unconfirmed-status series rather than declared complete.

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings, but they resolve to the exact same sequence for this book, so one combined line is shown instead of two identical ones.
