Synopsis
When Fairies Go Bad, the seventh Dragonbreath book, opens with a crisis at home for Danny Dragonbreath when his mother is abducted by fairies, upending what had otherwise been an ordinary stretch of his young life. Determined to get her back, Danny teams up with his best friend Wendell and their classmate Christiana, and together the three venture into the Faerie realm itself in search of a way to free her. The fairies they encounter there bear little resemblance to the gentle, glittering creatures of popular storybooks, forcing the trio to quickly rethink their assumptions about what they are dealing with as they navigate an unfamiliar and far more dangerous version of Faerie than any of them expected.

Notes
- From the series record (Dragonbreath): Eleven-volume illustrated middle-grade chapter-book series (Dial Books, 2009-2016) following Danny Dragonbreath, a talking dragon attending a school otherwise full of reptiles and amphibians, whose comic misadventures regularly involve genuine magical creatures and events (fairies, were-creatures, ghosts, curses). Author-illustrated throughout; every volume mixes prose chapters with full-page comic-style illustrated sequences. Confirmed traditionally published from first release, not web-serialized.
