Synopsis
Nightmare of the Iguana, the eighth Dragonbreath book, follows Danny Dragonbreath and his friend Suki on an unusual mission after their companion Wendell begins suffering from increasingly terrifying nightmares that show no sign of stopping. Concerned for Wendell's well-being as the nightmares grow worse, Danny and Suki decide the only way to help him is to enter his mind directly and confront whatever is causing the disturbances from the inside. Their journey through Wendell's dreamscape puts them face to face with the source of his terror, and the two friends must find and eliminate it before the strain of the nightmares overwhelms Wendell's sanity entirely, a race against time that plays out largely within the landscape of his own subconscious.

Notes
- From the series record (Dragonbreath): Eleven-volume illustrated middle-grade chapter-book series (Dial Books, 2009-2016) following Danny Dragonbreath, a talking dragon attending a school otherwise full of reptiles and amphibians, whose comic misadventures regularly involve genuine magical creatures and events (fairies, were-creatures, ghosts, curses). Author-illustrated throughout; every volume mixes prose chapters with full-page comic-style illustrated sequences. Confirmed traditionally published from first release, not web-serialized.
