Synopsis

Years later, a half-drowned boy named Yvgenie is pulled from a flooded river and taken in by Sasha and Pyetr's household -- only for it to become clear he is haunted by the lingering presence of Chernevog. Ilyana, the family's own gifted daughter, finds herself caught between sympathy for the innocent boy and the pull of the ghost inside him, as old magic threatens to unravel everything the family has built. The trilogy's close weighs what wizardry costs an ordinary family trying to live an ordinary life.
