Overview

The Ash Mistry Chronicles is a trilogy by British author Sarwat Chadda, published by HarperCollins Children's Books in the UK from 2012 to 2013. It draws on Hindu mythology and the Ramayana. Ash Mistry, a reluctant teenager, travels to India and discovers he is the reincarnation of a hero and a living weapon of the goddess Kali. He is opposed by Lord Alexander Savage, a wealthy sorcerer who commands shape-shifting rakshasa demons and wants to free the demon king Ravana. Ash is helped by his sister Lucky and by Parvati, a half-rakshasa girl. The three books, The Savage Fortress, The City of Death and The World of Darkness, are complete.
