Overview
Salman Rushdie's two fables of storytelling share one magic-infused world. Haroun and the Sea of Stories (1990), written for his elder son Zafar, follows a twelve-year-old boy on a quest to restore his father's gift of storytelling by reviving the poisoned Sea of Stories; Luka and the Fire of Life (2010), written for his younger son Milan, sends Haroun's younger brother into the land of magic and stories to save their father. Kirkus described the second as a sequel to Rushdie's charming 1990 fable.
