Overview
Mexican Gothic is a standalone gothic horror novel by Silvia Moreno-Garcia, first published in English in 2020 by Del Rey in the United States and Canada and by Jo Fletcher Books in the United Kingdom. It is set in 1950s Mexico. Noemi Taboada, a Mexico City socialite, travels to High Place, the isolated mountain home of the English Doyle family, after her cousin Catalina writes that her husband is poisoning her. The book combines classic gothic conventions with Mexican folklore, and a supernatural presence tied to the house and the family's past drives the story. It is a single novel.
