Overview

Susan Ee's Penryn & the End of Days trilogy is set six weeks after the angels of the apocalypse descended to demolish the modern world: street gangs rule the day, fear and superstition rule the night, and angels hunt humans. Seventeen-year-old Penryn, trying to keep her disabled sister Paige and their mother alive in the ruins of San Francisco, sees Paige kidnapped by angels, and allies herself with the enemy, Raffe, a warrior angel who lies broken and wingless in the street, to get her back. Begun as a self-published ebook in 2011, Angelfall became a USA Today bestseller and was named among TIME's hundred best fantasy books of all time.
