Overview
The Library Trilogy is Mark Lawrence's completed three-novel sequence, published 2023-2025, set around an impossibly vast, reality-spanning Library that exists outside of time and holds every book that has ever been written or ever will be. It follows two people trapped inside it, Livira and Evar, whose paths cross generations apart within the Library's shifting halls, and the wider war the institution turns out to be quietly holding back from the rest of reality. The trilogy moves between a besieged desert city under siege and the Library's own strange internal geography, mixing puzzle-box worldbuilding with the sweeping scale familiar from Lawrence's earlier series. The Book That Wouldn't Burn opened the sequence in 2023, followed by The Book That Broke the World in 2024 and the concluding The Book That Held Her Heart in 2025, closing out one of Lawrence's more overtly bibliophilic projects.
