Overview
Vessel is a standalone young adult fantasy by Sarah Beth Durst, published by Margaret K. McElderry Books in September 2012. It is set in a desert where tribes rely on gods who can only act through human vessels. Liyana, a young woman chosen to host the goddess Bayla of the Goat Clan, is left alone when the goddess fails to arrive. Korbyn, god of the Raven Clan, rescues her and asks her to find the four other vessels whose gods have also vanished. With a mismatched group she crosses the desert, pursued by the army of the Crescent Empire and its magician Mulaf. The book has no sequels and is not part of a series.
