Synopsis
In the world of Melin, two sword-shaped powers threaten to destroy everything around them. The Emperor of Melin goes to war against the mages who once shaped his cruelty, wanting them to suffer as he has suffered. Far from the court, Agata, a Danu servant in a circus, finds a magical wooden sword named Immelstorn in the forest; whoever wields it will shape the fate of her enslaved people. Elsewhere the dwarf Sidri leads a small party into an underground realm to recover an ancient artifact of his kin. Goat-legged beings from another world watch all of these events, and their aims are unclear and probably not kind. The mage Fess is prepared to carry the swords out of his universe, and himself with them, to stop them.
