Synopsis
Fess, a native of the Valley of Mages and an adviser to the Emperor of Melin, wakes in Evial, one of the Ordered Worlds, after the battle of the Diamond and Wooden Swords. He has lost his memory and his magic is weakened. Prophecies promise his new home a swift and terrible end, and part of the blame lies with the combat mage Klara Hummel, who has strayed from her path through the space between realities and now travels with her companions. Without his past, Fess enrols in the Magical Academy and chooses the hard road of a necromancer, which brings him new goals and new enemies. The book opens the story of Evial and of the swords whose keeper he will become.
