Synopsis
Argnist, a former captain who now runs a quiet farmstead, must repeatedly defend his home and neighbours from a monstrous horde called the Orda. The paths of several characters meet there, among them the dwarf Dvalin, the elf Eltara and a mysterious figure known as the Destroyer. In time they, or their children, must find out who unleashed the Horde on the northern lands of Hjorvard, and why. Argnist leads a rebel army, Eltara pays a terrible price to become a mother, and Dvalin forms an unlikely friendship with a strange sorceress.
