Synopsis
After the long dark of Midnight, several storylines run at once. A defeated admiral is sinking in Esperatia, a captain nicknamed Sunset earns a strange reputation, and a princess and a cardinal scheme at court. A bronze grate guards a secret, old mysteries come back to light, and Marcel takes on unusual assignments. Marshal Capras, shaken by corpses along the roads, finds that the horror has reached his own home. Fog closes in on Marshal Bruno, and Marshal Savignac turns to a very different set of maps. The book is built on the hope that dawn follows even the darkest midnight.
