Synopsis

A Fire in the Flesh continues the Flesh and Fire duology after a betrayal leaves Seraphena Mierel a captive of the false King of the Gods, Kolis, who believes her to be the reincarnation of a love he lost long ago, while Nyktos, the Primal of Death, is left trapped and unable to intervene. Isolated in Kolis's court and stripped of any obvious means of resistance, Sera must find a way to survive his volatile temperament and the casual cruelty of those around him, relying on her wits and assassin's training to endure a court where a single misstep could be fatal, all while trying to hold onto some plan for eventually escaping or undermining the god who now controls her fate.

Notes

  • From the series record (Flesh and Fire): A prequel series set generations before the main arc, following Seraphena, a maiden destined to seduce and destroy the Primal of Death; still being published as of 2026, with further volumes expected to connect the two series' timelines.

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.
