Synopsis

The War of Two Queens opens after Casteel discovers a shocking act carried out by the Blood Queen, a revelation that hardens Poppy's resolve to free her king from captivity and dismantle the Blood Crown for good. No longer content to wait or negotiate, Poppy sets out to rally support wherever she can find it, working to bring the primal guards and the wolven to her side and to persuade wary Atlantian generals that the coming war must be fought on her terms rather than theirs. As she assembles this uneasy coalition, Poppy is forced to grow into a role of open leadership, balancing grief and fury over what has been done to Casteel against the practical demands of building an army capable of standing against the Blood Crown's forces.

Notes

  • From the series record (Blood and Ash): The main five-book arc, following Poppy, the sheltered Maiden of an isolated kingdom, as she uncovers a bloodline that makes her the target of gods, kings, and monsters. Its own five-book story closes with A Soul of Ash and Blood.

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.
